The Ridgewood Surgery Center, 4013 N. Ridge Road, is a 32,000-square-foot clinic being built by 14 Wichita surgeons. It will offer a variety of same-day surgery services to the west side, said surgeon Jerry Gaston, one of the partners.

The clinic will include an 11,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center, Gaston said, performing general surgery, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, endoscopy, podiatry and pain management.

"There's already an orthopedic surgery center and office building there, a couple of general practice offices, a pediatric office, eye doctors. It's just the strongest place on the west side for a medical avenue."

The physician partners in the project include Gaston's partners, J.R. Smith and Stephanie Oberhelman. Surgeons Jace Hyder, Stephen Olson, Todd Brown and plastic surgeon Joseph Poggi are some of the other partners.

Hutton project coordinator Troy Sanders said the building will include about 12,000 square feet of unfinished office space for expansion or lease.

About three-quarters of Hutton's construction work is building health care facilities. Some of its credits in west Wichita include Kansas Orthopedics at K-96 and Ridge Road and the new Wichita Clinic under construction at Eberly Farms on West 21st.
