Sally Hill is alleged to have given ex-school classmate Sandra Joyner an overdose of painkillers for stealing her boyfriend when they were at school in the 1970s.

Staff at the Center for Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery in Charlotte, North Carolina, told police they overheard Hill saying Sandra had stolen her boyfriend. A probe revealed that Hill had allegedly delivered the fatal dose of painkillers.

It is also said Hill sat eating a biscuit rather then working to save Sandra and, that as her rival lay dying, she told the surgeon that everything was fine.

Hill, who is in jail awaiting a bail hearing, has denied the murder. She told lawyers: "Only Sandra Joyner, me and Jesus were there and know what happened."
